My name is Wayne Harlan and I have been a Personal Fitness Trainer since 2006.
I have been active my entire life with the exception of a few years.
Before I became a trainer there was a time that I stopped working out.
Due to the pressures of life I spent most of my time focused on work and in the process became overweight and out of shape.
One day it hit me like a ton of bricks,
I needed to start exercising again. Since then I have changed my lifestyle, adding exercise as a normal routine and in the process it lead me to the profession of Fitness Training. I can be confident in saying that fitness is my passion!
There are so many aspects to fitness that I love, and there are pages of benefits to exercise, but I will only list a few. The obvious and popular benefits of fitness and health include weight control or improved body composition, muscle growth, strength, cardiovascular improvement, decreased risk of heart disease, heart attack, stroke and other various ailments. However, in my opinion I didn't mention the best benefits.
Although we definitely want to avoid the list of potential issues that could occur, we also want to enjoy our lives along the way, right? I want a certain level of quality in my life... and for that reason I use the best exercises and movements to keep my body feeling great.
Every week I have 3 main goals for myself and my clients; increase strength, flexibility and mobility. Also maintaining these as we age should be in our focus. In my opinion, if we achieve this we will not only accomplish the obvious benefits of exercise but we will also improve our quality of life which is awesome! I earned my first training certification through International Sports Science Association, then I got certified in Kettlebell training through the Kettlebell Institute. My most recent interest is Z-Health.
I am currently working my way through Z-Health's many certifications as it is my favorite organization so far. Focusing on movement enhancement and performance from a neurological standpoint. The information and training I receive is research based and tested to be the best way to move during exercise. Each one of us are getting older everyday, but if we can continue to Live Fit then we will most likely age well.
